Welcome Friends and Art Collectors!  Cliff is excited about developing his ideas for reaching new art collectors in new venues and new locations.  Please check out our Sept 30 and Oct. 1 “Slopoke” art show in Pismo Beach and the Wildlife Art Show at the Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cucamonga, CA on the evening of Nov. 17 and all day on Nov. 18 and 19, 2017.  We hope you will find an event that appeals to you!  We appreciate your feedback as we continue to have Cliff’s art selected in National Competitions and art shows this summer and in the Fall including:

  1. 1. August 3-November 5, 2017 American Plains Artists show at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum.  Cliff received the Clyde Heron Award for best artistic historical depiction of an American Plains scene!  Two special paintings were juried in this show.

  2. 2.Sept. 8-25, 2017, Bosque Art Classic at 215 College Hill Dr, Clifton, Texas 76634.  This is a very competitive western theme art show and we are proud that one of Cliff’s oil paintings will be available for viewing and purchase at this juried Western Art Show; if interested in this painting, please contact us.

  3. 3.Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 2017, Annual Pismo Beach Contemporary and Western Fine Art Show held at the Veterans Memorial Bldg, 780 Bello St., Pismo Beach.  Please contact slopoke  to purchase tickets for this event at $20 each day online or $30 per person at the door.  The cost includes a full color catalog for each person who attends. Check out their webpage at  for additional info. Cliff and Betty will be present at this show as well!

  4. 4.Oct. 14-Dec. 17  A special watercolor painting was selected for the National Competition and annual Watercolor West art exhibit to be shown at the Brea Art Gallery in Brea, CA.  The reception is free on Sat. Oct. 14, from 5 to 7 PM.  It is also free on other days during the month for viewing.  Join us if you can at the reception.

  5. 5.Nov. 17-19 A new event, the Wildlife Art Festival will be held at the Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  We will be setting up on Friday and be there all day on Sat. and Sun.  This is in conjunction with the Federal Duck Stamp winners which will also be on display.  This is an amazing store with wildlife murals and mounts that would rival wildlife museums!  Our art display will be set up with paintings and prints upstairs (easy access with their elevator).  We hope you will be able to join us.  No entrance fee and the parking is also free!

Cliff enjoys competing in National Competitions and he received the Gold Medal in Watercolor at the April 2017 San Dimas Festival of Art (as well as 2016 Gold Medal in Watercolor and Best of Show Plein Air).  Another of his colorful watercolors was juried in the 2017 Signature Watercolor Show in Fallbrook, CA,  the American Impressionists Society Show in February 2017 in Costa Mesa, CA, the Cattlemen’s Western Art Show in Paso Robles in March 2017, the Signature American Plains Artists show in Pawhuska, Oklahoma (also in March) and the San Dimas Festival of Art in April 2017. It has been a busy winter-spring season for us. Who’s Who in America just awarded Cliff with the Life Time Achievement Award in 2017!

We appreciate those of you who attended the Show in Banning, CA  where he was the  featured artist for the Wild West Show at the Gillman Historic Wagon Museum in May 2016 as well as selling his plein air art at the Coos Bay Museum of Art in Oregon in June.  The American Plains Artists selected Cliff’s art for their premier event in San Angelo, Texas this past summer.

It is always exciting to have highly respected Art Magazines invite Cliff to show his work.  His art will be published again in Art of the West for the July-August 2017 Issue.  It was previously published in the Western Art Collector, Southwest Art Magazine and Art of the West issues.  His art was also seen in the  “Art of the West Magazine”, Annual Guidebook in January 2017.
